The mission of the Local Outreach Team here at Southeast is to empower THE Church to serve the Local Community.
Southeast Christian Church is often asked about our involvement in the local community. After much study and prayer, our church has elected to not replicate ministries already located in our community meeting needs on a daily basis. Instead, we choose to funnel financial and volunteer resources into those organizations we believe are the most effective in meeting those needs.
Our team is here to assist our members in serving with these local organizations. We offer ongoing monthly serving opportunities through our ServeMinder brochure. Click on the ServeMinder button below if you are interested in ongoing opportunities for yourself, your family, or your small group.
We also offer opportunities to serve the local community through our 4th Saturday Serve events. These opportunities are offered on the fourth Saturday of each month—April through September. If you are interested in these opportunities, please click the 4th Saturday Serve button to the right of this script.
Our ministry also facilitates the quarterly Basic Needs Drives. On a quarterly basis, we collect items that our local supported ministries have indicated they need. We ask our members to bring those various items and place them behind their cars during the drive weekends. Volunteers collect the items and sort them and then the following week they are distributed all around the community. If you are interested in the Basic Needs Drive, please click the button to the right for further information.
Our ministry also manages the LifeBridge Donation Center where volunteers collect and sort clothing and other items for distribution into the community.
If you are interested in serving with the Local Outreach ministry or have any questions about serving in the local community, please contact us at vparker@secc.org or call Vanessa Parker at 253-8090. A background check is required to work with children.
